Progress report: The Glory of Hera-- wedding of Zeus and Hera

Update on Olympians Book 3: The Glory of Hera-- at least , that's the title for now. The higher-ups at First Second, my publisher, want to include Heracles's name somewhere in the title. In a sense, the book is completely named after Heracles-- Heracles is a title that translates as "The Glory of Hera". But they want something a little more apparent. So far, we have ideas along the line of "The Glory of Hera: The Twelve Labors of Heracles". What do you think? Any ideas?

Above we have a page of finished black and white art from "Glory of Hera", a scene from the wedding of Zeus and Hera. I was very happy, after their (mostly total) absence from Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess, to have the opportunity to draw Titans again. I do so love the Titans.

  1. When are you going to talk about the Horae, the daughters of Zeus and the Titan Themis, and are you going to put them in Artemis? Also, are you going to put a pin-up of Eros, Psykhe, Aphrodite, and the Graces in Aphrodite: Goddess of Love? Plus are you going to make a pin-up of the Horae?

  2. You know, I'm not quite sure if the Horae will make the cut for a future volume-- we'll see. If they were to appear, Artemis's volume would be the likely destination.

You'll see pinups of Eros, Aphrodite and the Graces in Aphrodite: Goddess of Love. Psyche had to get bumped, hopefully I'll get to that particular story in some future project.

  3. Interesting, I am waiting for Apollo in January (learned that on Amazon) and know the Muses are narrating his book. So I though it would be interesting if the Horae narrated Artemis' book.
