Olympians Book 2: Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess out soon!

On or around April 13th, I believe, you'll be able to get your very own copy of Athena: Grey Eyed Goddess at your favorite bookstore, comic shop or etailer. In honor of this momentous occasion, and also as a nod to the new Clash of the Titans movie that just came out, here is a preview of one of my favorite pages from Athena, a wordless section depicting Perseus and Medusa. Enjoy!

  1. cool. Can't wait for athena.
B.T.W. I noticed you didn't seem to be using the Kabisis or Cap of Invisibility (lot of i's) on either the Perseus profile page or the Athena book. Why? Just wondering.

  2. A funny bit of personal preference. I do include a little in-joke for those of us in the know, but here's the reason from my own Geek Note on the omission: "I opted to leave this (the helmet) out because, really, (Perseus) has enough help already. Make him work for it a little! Even I could kill Medusa if I could turn invisible too!"

  3. tRUE. i KNOW IN MY COMICS, THOUGH, I HAVE TO USE THE WEAPONS YOU LEFT OUT. iF I HAD TO KILL MEDOUSA, i'D START HYPERVENTALATING OR I'D PASS OUT IF I DIDN'T HAVE INVISIBILITY. pLUS, THE KIBISIS HELPS WITH CARRYING SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARRY IT YOURSELF.

  5. A definite yes on Medusa's transformation. It's pretty key, IMO.

  6. Yeah, a lot of comics leave out the transformation and just leave the viewers to believe Medusa was a terrifying/ugly/petrifying monster all her life.
