Progress Report: another finished colored page from Hades

Olympians Book 4, Hades: The Lord of the Dead is all but in the can as I type this (just going over the last few pages making color tune-ups, and adding lightning. Boy, there's a lot of lightning in this book). I thought I would share another finished color page with all of you, so you can see what's coming up.

This particular page has proven to be a favorite of mine-- there's something about the way Demeter looks in these panels that I really dig. In fact, I've shared this particular page with you all before at the finished black and white stage and the concept sketch stage-- I should really go and add the rough pencils in one of these days.

So what do you think?

  1. Dude, I just gotta say. With almost all of your gods and goddesses, they are just as I pictured except for the exception of just a few. Nice drawing!

  5. Anonymous 1- Good question regarding Dionysos. I decide that this story takes place before his ascension to Olympus, what with his being the last Olympian and all.

Anonymous 2- Thanks for the compliment, and I hope you haven't gotten into some sort of trouble with your mom. Quite a mystery!

Jakob-- whoa, down boy! Yeah, Aphrodite is some pretty hot stuff, huh? I've been practicing drawing her a lot lately, preparing for her big upcoming role in book 6. In my head, I picture her looking like Sofia Vergara from Modern Family.

  9. I just wanted to note something: did anyone notice that Ares is trolling the scene? Or does he just like violence a lot as the blood-lusting god of war?

    Anyway love the comic!
